The Lionsgate Announces Chief Digital Officer, Worldwide Film Distribution Briana McElroy

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group has hired Briana McElroy, formerly of Twitter and Warner Bros., as their Head of Worldwide Digital Marketing.

She will be working under Lionsgate Motion Picture Group President JP Richards and Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Co-President Keri Moore.

McElroy has been a pioneer in the field of digital entertainment marketing for over a decade. She will be responsible for implementing the studio’s social media, talent and influencer strategies, digital partnerships, and 360 campaigns for upcoming films like John Wick: Chapter 4, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the next Saw sequel, Now You See Me 3, and The Expendables 4; and John Wick spinoff Ballerina.
“Having worked with Briana for a long time, I can attest to the enthusiasm, teamwork, and originality she injects into every project. She’s a genuinely kind and considerate person who uses that quality to great effect in her performances. Richards remarked, “We are very lucky to have her join our marketing team. Her career has been marked by strength, perseverance, tenacity, and bravery.”

Announcing his new position, McElroy said, “Having seen what the digital team at Lionsgate has grown and created, I am proud to be joining such a fun, daring, and innovative group of digital marketers and look forward to hitting the ground running on the most promising and exciting film slate of the year.”

McElroy was the Client Lead at Twitter where he oversaw global partnerships with Warner Bros. Discovery and The Walt Disney Company before joining Lionsgate. Prior to joining Twitter, she worked as the Director of Digital Marketing for Warner Bros. Pictures, where she oversaw digital forward marketing campaigns for blockbuster films like Wonder Woman, Kong: Skull Island, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Annabelle: Creation, Ocean’s Eight, A Star Is Born, and POKÉMON Detective Pikachu.
