How Apple prioritises health with its "based in science" innovations

Researchers all across the world may now collect data more regularly and broadly than ever before thanks to Apple’s cutting-edge features and technology, advancing science.

The pandemic made everyone concerned about their health. As a result, more people started living a lifestyle focused on fitness and utilising tech-based advancements to improve their exercise endeavours. Following suit, Apple has also always placed a high priority on health, delivering “a wide array of innovative features to help our users take care of their health every day, across exercise, heart health, mobility, sleep, menstrual health, safety, and more.” A comprehensive analysis on how the iPhone and Apple Watch have benefited many people through their “actionable, science-based insights” was also produced by the international technology company. Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, and Dr. Sumbul Desai, VP of Health at Apple, will have a fireside talk at BioAsia (Hyderabad) on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10:30am where they will discuss all of this and more.

Incorporating cutting-edge sensor-based technology, Apple’s recently announced watch OS 9 and iOS 16 cover 17 different areas of fitness and health, from mobility and women’s health to heart health and sleep. Patients can now learn more about their health between medical appointments because to advancements in recording, storing, analysing, and visualising health data. They can also receive alerts when they should discuss something with their doctor. “ Apple’s efforts to promote health are motivated by the conviction that every invention in the field of medicine should be based on science. Currently, Apple’s cutting-edge features and technologies are enabling researchers all across the world to gather data more regularly and broadly than ever before, enabling them to improve science.

“Our vision for the future is to continue to create science-based technology that equips people with even more information and acts as an intelligent guardian for their health, so they’re no longer passengers on their own health journey,” said Jeff Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Apple, in the July 2022 report titled “Empowering people to live a healthier day.” Instead, we want to put people firmly in control with useful, practical ideas.
